The draw for the second qualifying round for the African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire (AFCON 2023) will take place this Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The 48 selections divided into four pots according to the latest FIFA ranking established on March 31, will be drawn by lot by the Ivorian Salomon Kalou and the South African Lucas Radebe to be placed in 12 groups of four.

The first two of each group will get their ticket for the next AFCON which will take place from June 23 to July 23 in the country of Didier Drogba.

Côte d’Ivoire, which is automatically qualified as the host country, will nevertheless participate in these qualifications. Consequently, only one other country in its pool will qualify.

While waiting for the draw scheduled for this Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. GMT, here are some proposals for more or less raised or balanced groups:

Senegal, Guinea, Gambia, Sudan.

RD Congo, Gabon, Comoros, Central African Republic.

Mali, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Tanzania.
