On the occasion of the International Women’s Sports Day, this Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Deladem Ogouwa Akpaki, President of the National Olympic Committee of Togo (CNO-Togo) celebrates his Togolese compatriots.
Deladem believes that this day offers an opportunity to reiterate his encouragement to all athletes for their efforts and their contribution to the economy of women’s sport. “They deserve our full attention,” he said.
“Promoting the presence of women in sports governing bodies is a major objective to achieve for perfect gender equity in sport. The Paris2024 Olympic Games show the way to parity. Let’s go!” hammered the boss of the CNO-Togo.
The West African country has been represented on several occasions by women during major Olympic competitions.

Among the last carriers of the Togolese flag, there is the silver medalist, Naomi Akakpo.
She finished 2nd in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the 5th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey from August 8 to 18, 2022.
International Women’s Sports Day is held on January 24. It was an initiative of the French CSA Audiovisual High Council in 2014.
