The governing body of football in the world, FIFA renewed this Friday, March 24, 2023, the Ranking of national football teams. Africans won a lot of points but the list is still led by Nigeria.
More than three months have passed since the publication of the last FIFA Women’s World Ranking. 112 international matches have been played since December 9, 2022.
In addition to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Play-Off Tournament, many friendly matches and competitions were on the schedule for the quarter, and their results obviously had an impact on this ranking.
Nigeria, which occupied the 45th position overall since December, will climb to 42nd this time with 1540.96 points.
On the African continent, the top five remain Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, while the World Top 5 are the United States, who retain 1st in the Women’s Ranking FIFA, followed respectively by Germany, Sweden, England and France.
