In their only warm-up match before AFCON 2022, which starts on Sunday, Algeria easily beat Ghana (3-0) in Qatar on Wednesday, January 5th. Adam Ounas and Islam Slimani notably scored for the Fennecs.

From Sunday January 9, Algeria will put its title of African champion on the line.

That day, CAN 2022 will officially begin in Cameroon (it ends on February 6), after multiple postponements. As a preamble to this tournament, the Fennecs easily won their preparation match against Ghana (3-0), this Wednesday, January 5.




At Education City Stadium (Al Rayyan, Qatar), the Algerians quickly opened the scoring, thanks to Adam Ounas (1-0, 8 ’).

Then they waited until the end of the game to close the debate, thanks to an own goal from Jonathan Mensah (2-0, 74 ’) and an achievement by Lyonnais Islam Slimani (3-0, 79’).

Enough to prepare the AFCON, for their only preparation match, the one against Gambia (scheduled for last Saturday) having been postponed for cases of COVID-19 on the Gambian side.

The next competition of the Greens is now set for Tuesday, January 11 (2 p.m.), with a group match against Sierra Leone.

Ghana will start its AFCON with a duel against Morocco on Monday January 10.
