The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates of the Official Draw for the African Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as well as that of the final draw for the AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023.

The continent’s football governing body has declared that the official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers will take place on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Cotonou, the capital city of the Republic of Benin, the day before the 45th CAF Ordinary General Assembly.

Meanwhile, the official draw for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 will take place on Thursday, October 12, 2023.


The dates were revealed after the meeting of the body’s executive committee, which was held Thursday in Algiers.

The Board noted the progress made in Côte d’Ivoire in the preparations for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) Côte d’Ivoire 2023.

President Patrice Motsepe expressed his gratitude to Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara and Prime Minister Patrick Achi “for their cooperation and commitment” to ensuring that the competition “is world class”.
