Liverpool FC striker Cody Gakpo has joined his family and friends to support the children of his father’s country, Togo. The Dutch national football team striker has been in the Capital Lomé since Monday.


Cody Gakpo, is in West Africa for the holidays after a long season with the English club. He joined Liverpool in January and has been central to their strong end to the season.

In a video shared on social media on Thursday, the fourth Dutch player to score in three consecutive World Cup games for the country, is seen feeding children as they gathered to welcome their hero.

During his stay, Cody also handed out clothes and caps to some fans.


Cody Gakpo, 24, scored seven goals in 21 Premier League games for Liverpool in his first season with the Reds.

The youngster who joined the Reds from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven is expected to play a key role in the upcoming campaign especially as Liverpool eye a return to the UEFA Champions League.
