Saudi Arabia will host the 2023 CAF Super Cup, as announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) this Saturday. The event, known as the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup, is set to take place on September 15th.

The 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup final will feature a match-up between the reigning CAF Champions League winners, Al Ahly SC, and the champions of the CAF Confederation Cup, Algeria’s Union Sportive de la Médina d’Alger (“USMA”). The game will be played at the iconic King Fahd Stadium in Taif.

“We are excited to take the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup to a new territory in Saudi Arabia – a country that has been making significant strides in global football,” said Veron Mosengo-Omba, the CAF Secretary General.

For Saudi authorities, this decision represents another step in their ongoing collaboration with CAF. Earlier this year, CAF and SAFF signed a historic five-year framework agreement aimed at organizing competitions and fostering growth opportunities for both African and Saudi Arabian football.

This agreement encompasses initiatives focused on technical and football development, for both clubs and national teams, grassroots football, women’s football, talent identification, competitions, friendly matches, and commercial prospects.
