Former RC Lens captain Jean-Philippe Krasso etched his name as the inaugural scorer of this Africa Cup of Nations edition. The second half mirrored the first, with the Elephants dictating the game and compelling the Lycaons to counterattack. While Guinea-Bissau created chances early in the second half, they couldn’t convert. Undeterred, Côte d’Ivoire maintained their dominance and clinched the victory.

Shortly before the hour mark, Jean-Philippe Krasso, the assist provider for the first goal, skillfully navigated past the opposing defense, doubling the lead with another remarkable strike (2-0). Despite the Lycaons’ attempts to narrow the gap, they faced a resilient Ivorian defense. The Ivorian goalkeeper showcased his vigilance with a crucial save on Franculino in the 74th minute, securing the 2-0 victory.
