2023/24 Europa League Top 10 Goals: African stars in the lead

The top ten goals of the recently concluded 2023/24 Europa League season are led by three African stars, including Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus’ stunning solo effort against Freiburg earned him third place in the top ten goals of the 2023/24 Europa League season. The Ghanaian international dazzled fans with his exceptional run from his own half, weaving past three defenders to score for West Ham in their emphatic last-16 victory over the German club.

Kudus was bested by Nigerian Ademola Lookman and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the goal rankings. Lookman claimed the top spot with his second goal in Atalanta’s final against Bayer Leverkusen, while Aubameyang’s acrobatic strike against Benfica at the Stade Velodrome secured him second place.

Despite Kudus’ impressive performance, which saw him finish the competition with five goals and being rated the best player in the Europa League by WhoScored, the UEFA Technical Observer Panel named Aubameyang the tournament’s best player, thanks to his ten-goal haul.
