On Thursday, July 11, 2024, Burkina Faso’s Transitional President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, met with key representatives from the country’s 13 regions. During this meeting, the President discussed several diplomatic issues, asserting that Western countries manipulate other regions of the world to establish their dominance, particularly targeting the Chinese, Arabs, Africans, and Russians.
“For the imperialists, the world is a triangle. At the top of this triangle, they see themselves as the empire of good. They possess property, happiness, and wealth, and believe they have the right to impose their worldview and lifestyle on others,” stated Captain Traoré, who came to power through a coup in September 2022.
He continued by explaining that Europeans view the rest of the world as the other two corners of the triangle: the empire of evil (Asians and Russians) and the empire of slaves (Africans). According to him, that’s the reason why in Western films, “dirty” roles are often assigned to Blacks (drug traffickers, criminals, slaves, etc.), while Russians are depicted as mafiosi and major assailants, and Arabs as terrorists.
“In communication, they can make you hate another group of people. They are very skilled in this area and use all possible channels,” added Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
“Chinese products are fake”
“Economically, who among you has never called Chinese products fake? But today, I can tell you we are all wrong. China has reached a very advanced level of technology. Most of these countries source their products from China, put their brands on them, and sell them back to us,” he said.
“Our construction entrepreneurs would not disagree; all their equipment today is Chinese. Even those in transport would agree,” he emphasized, declaring, “They lied to us. Over the past twenty months, we have traveled the world looking for companies and factories, and we found they came from there. Through their communication, they made us believe that all Chinese products are fake, while only theirs are of good quality.”
President Traoré made serious accusations against Benin and Ivory coast leaders
During this meeting, President Traoré outlined his vision for the coming months and made serious accusations against neighboring country leaders, notably Patrice Talon of Benin and Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire, accusing them of hosting terrorist training centers attacking Burkina Faso with French support.
Since seizing power from another military leader who had overthrown President Roch Christian Kaboré, the 36-year-old Ibrahim Traoré has distanced himself from France, the former colonial power of the West African country. Burkina Faso’s military leadership is now strengthening ties with Russia, obtaining its support in the fight against terrorism.
