AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Full schedule of matchday 1

The road to the Africa Cup of Nations begins next week as the qualifying rounds kick off. A total of 24 matches are slated for the first matchday, marking the commencement of the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers.

The qualifying rounds will officially begin on Wednesday, September 4th, with the opening matches featuring Comoros taking on Gambia, Libya facing Rwanda, Tanzania playing against Ethiopia, and Sudan squaring off against Niger.

This qualifying phase is structured across six matchdays. Only 24 teams should secure their spots in AFCON 2025, including the host nation, Morocco.

Below is the full schedule for Matchday 1 of AFCON 2025 Qualifiers (all times in GMT):

September 4th, 2024
– Comoros vs Gambia at 15:00
– Libya vs Rwanda at 16:00
– Tanzania vs Ethiopia at 16:00
– Sudan vs Niger at 19:00

September 5th, 2024
– Malawi vs Burundi at 13:00
– Central African Republic vs Lesotho at 15:00
– Congo vs South Sudan at 16:00
– Guinea-Bissau vs Eswatini at 16:00
– Ghana vs Angola at 16:00
– Algeria vs Equatorial Guinea at 19:00

September 6th, 2024
– Kenya vs Zimbabwe at 13:00
– DR Congo vs Guinea at 16:00

– Togo vs Liberia at 16:00
– Sierra Leone vs Chad at 16:00
– Morocco vs Gabon at 18:00
– Senegal vs Burkina Faso at 19:00
– Egypt vs Cape Verde at 19:00

– Ivory Coast vs Zambia at 19:00

September 7th, 2024
– Mauritania vs Botswana at 16:00
– Cameroon vs Namibia at 16:00

As a reminder, the AFCON 2025 will mark the tournament’s 35th edition. It’s scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
