List of 46 selected match officials for WAFCON Morocco 2024

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a record 46 match officials who will oversee the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2024.

The announcement marks a new milestone in the tournament’s history, surpassing the previous record of 40 officials at the 2022 edition. The lineup includes 18 referees, 18 assistant referees, and 10 video assistant referees (VAR), representing 30 African countries.

Host nation Morocco leads the delegation with five officials, including renowned referee Bouchra Karboubi, who officiated at the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire and is also listed for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.

Also among the selected is Rwandan official Salima Mukansanga, who will serve as a VAR. Mukansanga notably officiated the 2022 WAFCON final and has become one of the most recognized figures in African officiating.

CAF’s selection reflects a growing commitment to advancing women’s roles in football officiating across the continent, ensuring high standards for the prestigious tournament.
