FC Lorient have announced the signing of Togolese midfielder Karim Dermane on a season-long loan from Belgian side Lommel SK, with no purchase option.
A product of Feyenoord Rotterdam’s academy, Dermane has played in Belgium since 2023, featuring for Lommel SK and, more recently, Kortrijk in the Jupiler Pro League. Primarily a holding midfielder, he is valued for his technical skills and mobility.
With Lommel, he made 43 appearances, scoring three goals and providing six assists. At Kortrijk, he played 15 matches, scored once, and delivered an assist — performances that marked him as one of Belgium’s most promising young talents.
“Joining FC Lorient and Ligue 1 is a major step in my career. I hope to showcase my abilities to the fans and repay the club’s trust,” Dermane said.
This marks Lorient’s fifth signing of the summer as they prepare for their return to France’s top flight.
