On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the Ghana Police Service held its 2021 Memorial Day Parade at the Cenotaph grounds of the National Police Training School in Accra.
The wreath laying and FlagRaising ceremony was in honor and in memory of eleven (11) police officers who lost their lives this year 2021 in the performance of their legal duties.
The special guest of honor for the occasion was the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The latter lit the perpetual flame signifying the everlasting remembrance of deceased souls and also signed the book of remembrance.

Wreaths were laid by the vice-president, the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, a representative of Ga Mantse and one of the widows, on behalf of the country, the police, the traditional authorities and the bereaved families respectively.
The ceremony was also honored by the Hon. Home Secretary and MP for Nandom, Mr. Ambrose Dery and members of the Police Management Board.
Former police inspectors general, representatives of other security agencies, a representative of Ga Mantse Nii Duodu Nsaaki III, Numo Blafo III and the families of fallen heroes were also present.
