The Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogboe scored a majority decision victory over the American-born Puerto Rican, Christopher Díaz Vélez Saturday night at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
The Royal storm, Dogboe, 27, a former junior featherweight world titlist, won the entertaining bout 96-94 and 97-93 while one judge scored the fight 95-95.
It was indeed a competitive fight throughout the course with both fighters of the same age, landing their share of solid shots.
The best shot in the fight seemed to come in round three when Diaz rocked Dogboe with a left hook, but he recovered quickly.
By 4th round, Diaz also known as “Pitufo” (Smurf) had some swelling around his eyes but didn’t give up.
Meanwhile, Isaac Dogboe (23-2, 15 KOs), stayed the course until the 7th round which he opened with a flurry of punches which forced his opponent back and excited the crowd.
Finally, Christopher Díaz fell for the second consecutive time in his career after the fierce demonstration against Isaac Dogboe.

Díaz, who was looking for a third world title shot with a victory over Dogboe, now has four defeats in his record of 26 wins and 16 knockouts.
Dogboe improved to 23-2 with 15 knockouts to retain his 126-pound belt from the North American Boxing Federation (NABF).
