Cameroon, the host country of the 2022/2021 Africa Cup of Nations, won the opening match by toppling Burkina Faso (2-1).

Cameroon successfully entered AFCON 2021 with two penalties.

The Burkinabé led shortly before the half-time with a goal from Gustavo Sangaré in the 24th minute.

However, António Conceição’s men overthrew Burkina Faso in front of their Yaoundé home crowd, thanks to a double goals from Vincent Aboubakar (40th, 45th + 3) on penalty.

The Indomitable Lions therefore temporarily take the lead of their group A, awaiting the battle between Ethiopia and Cape Verde in a few minutes.
