Many West African leaders began on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in the capital of Ghana, Accra, the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State of WAEMU member countries, after which the ECOWAS summit will take place.
Many West African Heads of State including Presidents, Alassane Ouattara, Rock Christian Kabore Mohamed Bazoum, Patrice Talon, and others are taking part in today’s meeting.
The prelude closed-door meeting of representatives of the member countries of the Monetary Economic Union of West African States (UEMOA or WAEMU), has focused on the political situation in Mali.
“Our intention is not to punish the Malian people, we must take economic and financial measures which are necessary for a rapid return to constitutional order”, declared inside the room a head of state, according to the information gathered by AfrikPage.

At this event, whose presence of the Togolese Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé has not yet been noted, is however present the head of the Togolese diplomacy, Pr Robert Dussey.
The leaders will also participate in the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State of the Member States of the Economic Community of Western States (ECOWAS).
