International Football Association Board (IFAB) continues to make changes in the rules of football. From now on, the game will undergo small changes that will take effect from the 2022/23 season.

The most relevant decision is the maximum 5 substitutions per game, a temporary modification that came along with the COVID-19 pandemic. It now going to be maintained permanently.

According to reports, IFAB has decided to make the rule fully part of the regulations of football from the 2022-2023 season.

All the modification made by IFAB for the 2022/23 season

. The five substitutions rule is maintained.

. The draw made by the main referee before the match will determine the choice of field and kick-off.

. A coaching staff member may be cautioned or sent off during a penalty shootout.

. The non-existence of the infraction by the goalkeeper’s hand in the own area.

. In the event that a player leaves the field of play without the referee’s authorization, an indirect free kick will be awarded from the place from which he left.

. The goalkeeper will no longer be able to have one foot in front of the line at the time of a penalty kick.
