The Black Stars of Ghana suffered a big disappointment by sinking against the host country of the Kirin Cup, Japan (4-1 ), this Friday June 10, 2022.

Like Tunisia, Ghana has chosen to play the tournament in June in order to prepare for the participation in the 2022 World Cup.

After the Japanese first goal by Yamane Miki in the 29th minute of the game, Jordan Ayew had equalized with a nice shot at the entrance to the surface a few minutes before half-time.

However, Ghana could not return to the locker room with the joy of equalisation. Japan regained the advantage immediately thanks to Nitoma Kaoru in the additional time of the first part of the game.

Then Kubo Takefusa (73rd) and Daizen Maeda (82nd) gave this success the appearance of a correction at the end of the game.

This first loss of the Otto Addo era means the Ghanaians will have to settle for Tuesday’s third-place game against Chile, while Japan will face Tunisia in the final of the Kirin Cup.

Above all, hoping that André Ayew and his team will learn from this rout in view of the World Cup where they will face another Asian selection, South Korea with Portugal and Uruguay in Group H.
