Liverpool FC beat their rival Manchester City (3-1) this Saturday in Leicester in the FA Community Shield, the opening match of the season. They therefore won a first trophy in 2022/2023.

Goals from Alexander-Arnold (20th), Salah (83rd sp) and Nunez (90th +3) made the success of Jürgen Klopp’s men.

The young Julian Alvarez had, for a time, snatched the equalizer for the Cityzens twenty minutes from time (70th).

Loser of the last English Championship and unfortunate finalist of the 2022 edition of the Champions League, Liverpool opened its season in the best possible way by winning the hundredth Community Shield in history against defending champion Manchester City.
