The President of Confederation of African football (CAF), Dr Patrice Motsepe arrived in Gabon on Friday August 19, 2022 for a meeting with President, Ali Bongo Ondimba.

The details of the exchanges between the two men are not yet known.

Patrice Motsepe was joined by the Minister of Sports, Franck Nguema and Robert Mangollo Mvoulou the 1st Vice-President of the Gabonese football federation (FEGAFOOT) and CAF General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba.

The same day, the Gabonese heard of state hosted his Togolese counterpart, Faure Gnassingbé and the General Secretary of Commonwealth Patricia Scotland.

As a reminder, Gabon and Togo officially joined the commonwealth Nations in June. However, the two countries did not take part in the latest edition of Commonwealth Games.
