Ghana and Niger qualified for the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2023) on the second leg matches of Saturday September 3, 2022 in Abuja and Cotonou.



After their 2-0 success in the first leg, the local national team of Ghana was caught up in the score at the Mlo Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Like the Togo – Niger match, the meeting had its decisive turn in the second half.

The Nigerians opened the scoring in the 76th through Zulkifilu Muhammed, before Chijioke Akuneto scored the second goal in the dying moments of added time (94th).

With perfect equality over the two games, only penalty shootout had to decide the winner. The Black Galaxies scored 5 shots while Nigerians missed one. 5 – 4.

Meanwhile, in Cotonou in the capital of Benin, the Sparrowhawks of Togo were dominated (3-1).

What makes 3-2 in favor of Niger on the whole of the two matches. The Nigeriens have thus won their fourth qualification in the CHAN.
