Several applications have been selected by CAF with regard to the organization of the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025). A total of six countries have been selected pending the verdict in February 2023.

The reported candidacy of the last African Champion for the organization of the African Cup of Nations in 2025 has been denied by the Senegalese football federation.

Therefore six candidacies are so far official, Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Zambia and the unique candidacy of the Nigeria-Benin duo.

With the exception of Benin, all the other countries have at least once hosted an AFCON on their soil.

Finally, to define the lucky winner who will host the AFCON 2025 , CAF will carry out, between January 5 and 25, 2023, inspection visits to the candidates’ facilities before the announcement scheduled for February 10, 2023.
