Ms. Bärbel Höhn, the Special Representative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for energy in Africa has been visiting Togo since January 29, 2023. A visit which takes place two months before the big meeting in Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD.23).
Bärbel Höhn, former Minister of the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia and member of the Bundestag, will stay in the West African country until 03 February.
This Wednesday, she visited projects funded by Germany and implemented by KfW and GIZ: the rehabilitated Davié transformer station as well as projects promoting the productive use of solar energy and sustainable agriculture in Sokodé, the central region of Togo.
Germany remains one of Togo’s major partners in promoting access to renewable energy in rural areas.
This visit comes two months before the 9th edition of the Berlin Dialogue on Energy Transition, scheduled for March 28 and 29 in the German capital.
The Energy Transition Conference is organized and supported by the German Federal Government and is a joint initiative of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), the German Solar Association (BSW), the German Energy Agency (dena) and eclareon.
Preparations for BETD.23 by Green Sofa
Created in 2015, the Green Energiewende Sofa is the icon of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD). It announces the Global Energiewende conference and its annual liaison with other international summits and illustrious fairs to foster global dialogue on energy transition.
The Energiewende ambassador is already revealing the delegations that will take part in this big event which is fast approaching.
Between BETD conferences, the Green Energiewende Sofa, also called The Green Sofa, travels around the world. “It has already toured 6 of the 7 continents”, the organisers say.
After BETD.23, The Green Sofa will be tentatively at the COP28 conference in Dubai. This event will be held from November 30 to December 12, 2023 in Dubai.
