The Nigerian football legend, Jay jay Okocha who also played the game of predictions, at the start of the knockout stages of the Champions League, has chosen his favourite among Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich.
Who to succeed Real Madrid on the list as the Champions League resumes this Tuesday with the round of 16 matches?
By next March, there will only be eight teams left in the running. And yet, it is difficult to predict the winner as the level is high this season with the clubs which have strengthened themselves. However, this is not the observation of Jay Jay Okocha who sees a team stand out.
Passed by Paris Saint-Germain from 1998 to 2022, the former midfielder believes that the club of the French capital can lift the trophy at the end of the season.
According to Soccernet, the former Super Eagles striker believes Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Junior can make a difference for the Parisians: “I think they’ve bought a few players recently who are helping younger people to believe in it too. And I think that’s what they lack right now to win the title: the belief that they can do it.”
Messi’s world champion status and his current good form coupled with his experience in this competition are factors that can tip the scales in the French team’s camp, according to the Nigerian. “I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he really ignites again this season and helps PSG win the trophy,” he added.
PSG must already make a good impression today against Bayern at the Parc des Princes. A match scheduled for 8 p.m. (GMT), counting for the round of 16 first leg.
