Two matches are on the program this Saturday, February 25, counting for the third and last day of group A in the 2023 African Cup of Nations for under 20 (AFCON U20 2023).

This Saturday marks the opening of the third and final day of the group stage of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, with the highly anticipated outcome of Group A.

The Cairo International Stadium will host two matches with very contrasting dynamics. On the one hand, Senegal, which brilliantly won their first two matches, have already qualified for the quarter-finals and are even at the top of the group.

On the other hand, the Egyptian hosts have just one point after two rounds and are under enormous pressure. The pharaohs will be eliminated in the event of a defeat by Senegal, which would make it difficult for them to finish second in the group or among the best third.

Despite everything, the feat is not impossible for the Egyptians, but the mission suggests to be difficult against a Senegalese team which could decide to rotate its workforce due to the lack of stakes for it.

In the other match of the group, Nigeria will receive Mozambique in a position of strength, thanks to their victory against Egypt (1-0) on the last day. The Flying Eagles will be content with a draw to ensure their qualification against Mambas who have taken only one point in two games. Last of its group, the Mozambican selection must absolutely snatch victory against the Nigerian ogre to hope to continue the adventure in this competition.

Saturday’s program at AFCON U20:

Mozambique-Nigeria, Ismailia, 5 p.m.
