The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 will no longer take place in Indonesia! The governing body of football in world has confirmed the information on Monday by announcing the new country that will host the tournament.


The hosting of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 has been awarded to Argentina. Revealed the body during a press conference on Monday April 17.

The move follows the withdrawal of hosting rights from Indonesia, which was originally scheduled to host the competition.



The application of the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) to take over was followed last week by an inspection of the various stadiums and associated infrastructure by a FIFA delegation.

The hosting agreement has been signed by the AFA, while the host country and local authorities have initialed all other relevant documents related to hosting the event.

The tournament, which will be played from May 20 to June 11, 2023, will bring together 24 teams divided into six groups.

In total, four African nations have qualified for this 23rd edition of the World Cup. These are The Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia.
