Africa is currently represented by just four teams at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is being held in Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, the African ambassadors had a very difficult start, culminating in the elimination of the Zambian team.
Zambia were eliminated after losing in their second game against Spain on Wednesday. This new defeat is all the more disappointing as it ended with the same score as the previous match, i.e. 5-0.
Zambia have therefore conceded 10 goals in two clashes, becoming last in group C dominated by Spain and Japan (already qualified).
After this result, Africa will only rely on the three remaining nations, namely Nigeria, Morocco and South Africa.
Nigeria start their second day with a clash this Thursday, against one of the host countries, Australia from 10:00 GMT.
African champions Bayana Bayana meet Argentina tomorrow, while Morocco take on South Korea on Sunday.
