The Lionesses of Morocco finally made history after a victory this Sunday, in their second FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 match against South Korea at Coopers Stadium in Hindmarsh, South Australia.

Both teams were looking for their first wins in the group stage of this year’s edition, with Morocco seeking their first-ever World Cup victory.

The Moroccans recorded their first World Cup goal early on when Ibtissam Jraïdi netted in just the sixth minute in what turned out to be the game’s only goal.

This goal was enough to make history and give Morocco the first victory and keep hopes of progressing in Group H.

Morocco also became the second African team to record a victory in this year’s Women’s World Cup after Nigeria beat Australia earlier this week.
