German-Ghanaian footballer Agyemang Diawusie passes away at 25

Agyemang Diawusie, a talented German footballer of Ghanaian descent known for his role as a right winger, has tragically passed away at the age of 25. The news of the striker’s untimely demise surfaced on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, enveloped in mystery as the cause remains undisclosed.

Diawusie’s football journey began with RB Leipzig and took him through FC Ingolstadt, Dynamo Dresden, and SpVgg Bayreuth.

His final stint was with Jahn Regensburg in Bundesliga 2, where he showcased his talent in 15 matches.

The German second division club, deeply affected by his premature departure, paid heartfelt tribute, extending condolences to his family, close friends, and fellow players. In a considerate statement, they appealed for privacy, recognizing the gravity of the situation.



FC Ingolstadt, Diawusie ‘s former team, also expressed sorrow at the loss: “The Schanzer family mourns the passing of Agyemang Diawusie. Learning of the former FCI professional’s demise at the age of 25 on Tuesday has filled us with profound sadness. Our thoughts are with those grieving.”

Agyemang Diawusie, as reported by Bundesliga, became a part of Regensburg in the summer of 2023, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his football career. During his time with the Bavarian club, he showcased his skills in 16 appearances, contributing to the team’s endeavors. Prior to his stint with Regensburg, Diawusie had a diverse football journey, representing various clubs including RB Leipzig, Wehen Wiesbaden, Ingolstadt, Dynamo Dresden, Austrian side Ried, and Bayreuth. His versatility and prowess were evident as he participated in 15 Bundesliga 2 games throughout his career.

Despite his notable achievements at the youth level, where he donned the German jersey with the U19 squad, Diawusie’s ascent to the senior national team remained unrealized. While his contributions to various clubs were commendable, the call-up to represent Germany on the senior stage remained an unfulfilled chapter in his football odyssey.
