FIFA has revealed the latest global rankings for national teams following the November 2023 international matches, crucial for the FIFA World Cup 26™ qualifiers across Africa, Asia, and South America. Notably, Ghana faced a substantial point loss in this update.
The Ghana Black Stars experienced a setback in their ranking, suffering a bitter defeat against the Comoros Islands on November 21 during the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Despite a prior narrow 1-0 home victory against Madagascar, who were ranked 130th at the time (now 128th), Ghana slid to 61st place from the previous month.
Under the leadership of Chris Hughton, the team currently holds 1384.19 points, marking a decrease of -10.55. In the African context, Ghana sits at the 11th position, trailing behind Burkina Faso (57th).
In Africa, Morocco maintains its top position (13th globally), with Senegal following at 20th internationally. The remaining teams in the African Top 5 include Tunisia (28th), Algeria (30th), and Egypt (33rd).
On the global stage, Argentina retains the first position ahead of France (2nd), and England (3rd, up by 1) has now joined the top three, followed by Belgium (4th, up by 1). Despite consecutive defeats against Colombia and Argentina, Brazil (5th, down by 2) manages to maintain its position in the top 5.

Uruguay, Comoros, and Malaysia emerge as the most significant climbers this month, showcasing impressive performances in the FIFA World Cup 26 qualifiers. Particularly noteworthy is the rise of the Comoros Islands (119th, up by 9), shining with victories against the Central African Republic and Ghana, securing their best historical position at 119th place.
