Which country will host the African Clubs Association HQ?

Nairobi, Kenya, initially designated as the host city for the African Clubs Association (ACA), will no longer hold this honor. According to the latest information, Rabat, Morocco, has been chosen as its new headquarters location.

This decision marks a significant turning point for African football. The ACA aims to advocate for the interests of clubs across the continent. An initiative drawing inspiration from the successful European model, ECA.

Established last November, ACA aims to safeguard and promote the commercial viability and global competitiveness of African football clubs. It also prioritizes the integrity of key stakeholders, including referees, match commissioners, and VAR operators, ensuring their independence and credibility.

Despite competition from Kenya and Ivory Coast for the privilege of hosting the ACA, Morocco emerged as the unanimous choice. However, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet to officially confirm Rabat as the new headquarters.

Among the ACA’s ambitious objectives is the formation of partnerships with sponsors, the private sector, and governments. These collaborations are expected to facilitate the development of football infrastructure across the 54 CAF member associations.

Additionally, the African Clubs Association aims to nurture young talent through dedicated academies for boys and girls. The vision is to raise the standard of African club football to compete on the global stage.

During the launch event, Eng. Hersi Ally, President of Tanzania Premier League giants, Young Africans SC, was elected as the inaugural President of ACA.
