AFCON 2025 Qualifiers : Full breakdown of the groups

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, the draw for the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) in Morocco took place in Johannesburg. This event revealed the 12 groups in which 48 African teams will compete for a chance to secure one of the 24 spots in the tournament.

The path to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco is now clear for the participating teams following the preliminary rounds. The draw was conducted by Emerse Faé, the coach of reigning champions Côte d’Ivoire, and Marouane Chamakh, a former Moroccan international representing the host nation. The qualifying matches are scheduled for autumn 2024 unless the Confederation of African Football (CAF) makes further adjustments.

With this draw, the road to AFCON 2025 qualifiers to be tough, with each group offering unique challenges. The group stage of the 35th edition of the AFCON qualifiers will take place in September, October, and November 2024. The tournament has been rescheduled to occur from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
