The incident occurred on Saturday, August 10, 2024, just before Hoffenheim’s friendly match against Fulham. During the warm-up, Bebou experienced discomfort in his right knee, forcing him to withdraw from the match immediately. This injury couldn’t have come at a worse time, with Hoffenheim set to face FC Würzburger Kickers in the German Cup on Friday, August 16.
