The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which has expanded to feature 32 teams, will take place from June 14 to July 13 across various cities in the USA. Four African clubs will represent the continent in this prestigious competition: Al Ahly (Egypt), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), and Wydad AC (Morocco).
Al Ahly (Group A)
The record holders for the most CAF Champions League titles, Al Ahly, will begin their campaign on June 14 against tournament hosts Inter Miami CF at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Their group stage continues with a match against SE Palmeiras on June 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, before concluding on June 23 with a clash against FC Porto at the same stadium.
Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Group D)
Espérance faces a challenging path in Group D. Their tournament opens with a match against Brazil’s CR Flamengo on June 16 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Tunisian giants will then face Club León on June 20 at GEODIS Park in Nashville, before rounding off the group stage against English side Chelsea on June 24 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Mamelodi Sundowns (Group F)
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns will kick off their Group F journey against Ulsan Hyundai on June 17 at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando. They will follow with a match against Borussia Dortmund on June 21 at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, and will face Fluminense on June 25 at Hard Rock Stadium.
Wydad AC (Group G)
The reigning African champions, Wydad AC, will begin their challenge on June 16 against English champions Manchester City at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Their second match will be against Juventus on June 22 at the same venue, before concluding their group stage with a clash against Al Ain on June 25 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
