Ghanaian citizens will no longer require visas to travel to Morocco. The move comes after a new bilateral agreement aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
The announcement was made by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who confirmed that the new policy takes effect immediately.
“This is one of the key agreements reached with the Moroccan Foreign Minister during my two-day working visit,” Ablakwa said in a statement.
Under the new arrangement, Ghanaian travelers will no longer need to apply for visas through the Moroccan embassy. Instead, they can obtain an online travel authorisation within 24 hours, significantly easing the travel process.

The development is expected to enhance tourism, trade, and people-to-people relations between Ghana and Morocco. With direct flights already operational, the agreement is likely to further increase connectivity.
“The borders in Africa must not be allowed to divide us; they can be bridges of connectivity,” Ablakwa added.
