According to preliminary investigations conducted by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), the kidnapping of a pregnant woman in Takoradi was a fake, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah revealed.
In an interview with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on Kessben FM, the Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah also stated that the 29-year-old was not pregnant, as has been widely reported
“From their preliminary investigations, NIB suspects that this whole story was fake and that the medical doctor who has even looked at her revealed she wasn’t pregnant. That is the immediate information that we have. The police are still with her,” he said.
However, the victim’s husband insists that she was pregnant before her disappearance.
Josephine Panyin Mensah, reportedly took a morning walk from Amanoo Road to the Paa Grant roundabout as part of her exercise routine last Thursday, and did not return.
