As the municipal elections in South Africa approach, Julius Malema, leader of the Fighters for Economic Freedom (EFF) party, revealed the basics of the party’s manifesto.
On Sunday, at the South African radical left rally in the capital Johannesburg, thousands of activists dressed in red and black listened to Malema’s wishes for the future of the country.
Malema assured that he would continue the revolutionary struggle inherited from Mama Winnie, anti-apartheid activist, South African politician, and second wife of Nelson Mandela, unlike his rival embodied by the ANC,
“Our manifesto is based on the truthful observation that our people are landless, our people are jobless, our manifesto is based on the truthful observation that local government is incapable, our manifesto is based on the truthful observation that many people in South Africa still don’t have acces to water, “said Julius Malema, leader of EFF.
The ANC, the ruling party led by President Cyril Ramaphosa, officially launches its campaign on Monday. However, the president did not fail to do some walkabout in the township of Tembisa this weekend on the sidelines of the EFF meeting.
EFF will also face the Democratic Alliance (DA) at the polls.
Municipal elections will take place on November 1.
