Six (06) alleged Nigerian cybercriminals were arrested in the early hours of Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Benin-Togo border by Beninese police in Hillacondji, while they were fleeing Ghana to this country using a beach way.

The Suspected Nigerian cybercriminals are in the hands of the Central Office for the Repression of Cybercrime (OCRC) since Monday.

According to the information gathered by AfrikPage, the six (06) suspected cybercriminals were arrested on the beach, near the Benin – Togo border at Hillacondji.

They are young Nigerians ranging in age from 18 to 24 years old.

The defendants had allegedly settled in Ghana where they had been carrying out their cybercrime activity for a while.

They were arrested to assist investigations when they reportedly decided to go and settle in Benin Republic to continue their activities.

After their hearing at the Central Cybercrime Repression Office, the suspects will be presented in the coming days to the Special Prosecutor of the Court for the Repression of Economic Crimes and Terrorism (Criet).
