Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor, who has been out of international competition for a few years, has yet to declare the end of his career. At 37, the Togolese star does not seem to be ready to hang up his boots.
Since his departure in 2020 from the Paraguayan club Olimpia after only two games, Emmanuel Adebayor remains without a club. Although many consider him retired, the ex-Real Madrid player says it loud and clear, that he has not yet finished his career.
“I haven’t announced my retirement yet. I am not yet officially retired. Let me enjoy my efforts. I worked so hard. 20 years at the top level is so difficult. I fought to build a life for myself … “he declared Thursday during a gala match organized in Lomé by Canal + Togo, in the run-up to CAN 2021.
“When I started my career, I didn’t tell anyone. When I decide to quit, I won’t announce it, ”he told our reporters.
As for the next African Cup of Nations which will start on Sunday, S.E.A has no favorite.
