As Egypt await sanctions against Senegal after they filed a complaint claiming they were subjected to racism, referring to the use of lasers in their game on Tuesday, the Ghanaian goalkeeper Abdul Fatawu Dauda sends a message to Mohamed Salah’s team.
The Ghanaian international tweeted that he suffered the same treatment in 2013 in the Egyptian capital during the play-offs for the 2014 World Cup.
“Wossop Egypt, I heard you are complaining about laser…..?”, he captioned a picture from the match.
Even on January 23, Dauda recalled the situation despite which Ghana won 2-1 and qualified for the 2014 World Cup.
Egyptian players including their goalkeeper and captain Mohamed Salah had been targeted by lasers during the penalty shootout of Tuesday’s game which they lost to Senegal.
The disciplinary committees are analyzing the situation to make a decision on the case. But the result of the match is irreversible. Senegal is qualified for the 2022 World Cup.
