Although during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021), former Arsenal striker, Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor decided not to express support for Ghana or Nigeria as they faced off, the football star has eventually sent a strong message to the Black Stars of Ghana after they qualified for Qatar 2022.
Emmanuel Adebayor has congratulated Ghana on qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana were able to beat Nigeria in the play-off phase and thus secured the ticket to return to international competition after missing out on the 2018 edition held in Russia.
The Togolese who always indicates he is linked to both Ghana and Nigeria, said in a new video released in the weekend, that he is confident the Black Stars will make the continent proud in Qatar.
“Congratulations to the Black Stars for qualifying for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. We are all going to support you guys, you guys have made us proud, West Africa proud and I’m pretty sure in a couple of months you will make the whole Africa proud,” he said.
The former Manchester City, Tottenham and Real Madrid striker was one of the pillars of Togo who made the country appear for its first World Cup in 2006 in Germany.
