The Confederation of African Football has unveiled the name of the host country for the next Africa Cup of Nations for under 23 (AFCON U-23).

Scheduled for next year, the competition will take place in Morocco.

After the African Women’s Cup of Nations which is currently being held, Morocco has been designated to host the final phase of the AFCON U-23.

The Cherifian kingdom will host a new competition of the African football body, so decided the CAF in recent days.

The elimination phase will take place in two phases, the first: from September 19 to 27, 2022 and the second from March 20 to 28, 2023.

Eight teams will qualify for the finals. The two finalists and the 3rd will validate their tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The AFCON U-23, created in 2011 takes place every four years. The next edition is scheduled for November 2-26, 2023.
