Senegalese international Sadio Mané was named best African player of the year on Thursday at the CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco. The short message of the football star once again testifies his humidity.

A second consecration for the new player of Bayern Munich who was crowned during the last edition in 2020.

“I am very moved I do not even have the words, I dedicate it to the youth of my country”, said Mané, 2nd Senegalese to win this trophy after El Hadj Diouf in 2001.

Sadio Mané, Egyptian Mohamed Salah from Liverpool and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (Chelsea-Senegal) were the finalists in this category.

The former Liverpool, club with which he scored 23 goals for the 2021-2022 season, won the very first African Cup of Nations for his country in February and was also decisive in the qualifying match at the World Cup against Egypt.
