LFP on Monday sanctioned Alexander Djiku for not having respected the sports betting ban imposed by the Sports Code on all professional football players in France.

Discover some details on the reasons for this sanction depriving him of the game against PSG at the end of the month.

Contacted by Alsas Sports , the 28 year-old footballer gave some details on this sanction.

The co-captain of Racing concedes having bet only once, the sum of 20 euros on a match in the Spanish championship. But, according to him, he was not aware that the regulations, now prohibiting all Ligue 1 players from betting on a foreign championship, had changed during the 2018-2019 season.

After having defended this version with the Commission, he was nevertheless sanctioned. Therefore, Djiku will not resume until 2023, on January 2 against Troyes at La Meinau.
