A young man believed to be a Togolese named Elanda Ekoka Romeo, was allegedly assaulted to death in Turkey by some young people, whose origins remain unknown for the moment.
In a very video circulating on social media, this Thursday, September 09, 2021, the young man appears dying in a bloodbath, surrounded by those who came to his rescue.
At the the video, a voice can be heard responding in to the question of what happened to him: “They stabbed him with a knife”.
According to a Togolese eyewitness, “the emergency services called, a few minutes after this altercation, were unfortunately unable to save this compatriot who had visibly lost a lot of blood.”
On Twitter the Turkish Embassy in Lomé reacted to the incident : “Our sincere condolences to the grieving family. The criminal police are in pursuit of the killers who have fled.”
