After the postponement of the Guinea-Morocco match for the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, the African Football Confederation (CAF) made another important decision on Wednesday after analyzing the political and security situation in the west African country.

Wakrya, Anglogold Ashanti Golden Boy and CIK, three Guinean clubs engaged in the preliminaries of the African club competitions, will play their qualification in a single set against the opponent.

“After following the political and security situation in Guinea and after careful consideration, the Interclub Commission of CAF decided that the three matches involving Guinean clubs in the preliminary stages would be played in a single round on the territory of the opponent. … ”, We read in the CAF press release.

It should be remembered that the first round of the qualifiers of the African Champions League will take place from September 10 to 11 (first leg) and from September 17 to 18 (return match).

The Club Industriel de Kamsar (CIK) was to host the Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak in Conakry before playing the second leg in Accra. With this decision everything will be played in Accra on September 12.

Engaged in the CAF Cup, Ashanti Gold and Wakrya will now play on September 19, respectively against the Nigerians of Bayelsa and the Senegalese of Diambars.

Guinea Vs Morocco match cancelled

The match between Guinea and Morocco, scheduled for Monday for the second day of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, has been postponed after Sunday’s coup in Conakry. The Moroccans, whose hotel was located near the presidential palace, heard the automatic weapons crackle.
The Atlas Lions plane was able to leave Conakry on Sunday evening, after a 4-hour flight.

However, before boarding, the Moroccans were entitled, despite their escort, to a rather special farewell from some Guineans. “Our bus was a bit shaken, people were banging on it, it was not very pleasant,” said one of the members of the delegation present in Guinea.
