Video of man shooting: Ghana Police promise 5,000 GH₵ to anyone who can help in his arrest

After reviewing a video footage showing a man firing several gunshots, the Ghana Police Administration has placed an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 5,000.00) as a bounty for anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest.

The perpetrator is said to have fired the shots allegedly to welcome the New Year.



In a statement published on Saturday, January 1, 2022, the police said they had intercepted the video. They therefore seek to arrest the person so that he can be prosecuted.

“The Police have taken a serious stance against the actions of the young man since it is a crime to discharge a firearm in public without lawful and necessary occasion under Section 209 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29) “, the statement read.



According to Police, the incident occurred last night, December 31, 2021, in Accra, at ANC Mall, East Legon. They also indicated that the firearm is suspected to be AK 47.
