Liverpool have asked Senegalese star Sadio Mane not to risk his health by playing his country’s African Cup of Nations, AFCON quarter-final against Equatorial Guinea this Sunday, January 30, 2022, the British newspapers Daily Mail and The Mirror report

The Reds have expressed concern over his injury which led to his substitution in Tuesday’s Senegal v Cape Verde game (2-0).

The striker of the Teranga Lions opened the scoring in the 63rd minute despite his injury before falling amidst the game.

Subsequently, he was sent to the hospital for treatment. Minutes later, a photo of him and the goalkeeper he colluded with visiting him appeared on social media.

Fortunately, the 29-year-old, who posted a photo of himself on an exercise bike on Thursday, took part in Senegal’s training session on Saturday.

This obviously suggests that Sadio Mane will be selected for Sunday’s match against Equatorial Guinea in Yaoundé.
