The ambassador of the legacy of Qatar 2022, former player of Barcelona, Samuel Eto’o was delighted with the potential of the African teams who will play the Africa Cup of Nations, a few months before the world Cup, and hope that Cameroon, his country will win this continental competition.

“There are no bad teams. I hope the Cameroonian team will win this Cup (AFCON 2022) because we will play at home in front of our own fans and I hope we will win it. I know it will not be easy, but it is possible” said Samuel Eto’o questioned by Michael Oudor, a special envoy Africa news to Qatar.

According to the footballer, the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon which will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022 in seven stadiums will undoubtedly reveal great talents.

“We have a chance today as Africans because we have a lot of talented players. It is true that we know players like Sadio Mané who has made a name for himself as one of the best African players. But we also have a Nigerian team which has good players who take part in European matches. If you look at the Cameroonian team, they are also made up of good players with players like Aboubakar Vincent. ”

As for the World Cup, which will be played from November 21 to December 18, 2022, the African teams intend to impress and hope to play a first final of this competition.

Senegal and Morocco have already obtained their tickets for the last qualifying round.

Qatar, host country of the 2022 World Cup, hopes to attract more than 1.2 million visitors to the tournament.

Five of the eight stadiums that will host World Cup matches have already been inaugurated, while construction of the Lusail stadium, where the final will be played, is 98.5% complete.
